Cost of Ferry from Port Blair to Havelock

Hi,

I am planning to go to port blair and havelock in feb.I have gone through most of the posts on this site but havent managed to find the current cost of ferry from port blair to havelock..some of the earlier posts are quoting prices of about 20 Rs for the ride, while travel agents and barefoot is charging almost 2200 for 2 people.

Can someone who has visited andamans recently help me with the costs?

I visited in Mar-2009 , Mostly government operate ship start from Phoenix Jetty cost btw 200 to 500 per person.

I think 20 INR only for local people , they check Photo identity.

are there only government ferries or private ones too? Agents and resorts are charging 1100 per person one way..
Can we get the tickets in the morning for an evening boat?

Never heard private operator running ship for Havelock

I just returned from Havelock. A ferry ticket costs Rp250 each way. There are generally 2 ferries per day non stop to and from Port Blair. It is a real pain to buy a ticket (just like any other ticket counter in India)and it should not be left to the last minute. An overnight stay in Port Blair is required on the return trip.
