booking flight CCU-PortBlair

hi, I need your advice!

I am planning to visit andaman island about 10 days later, but having difficulty with booking the flight. I don't have flexible schedule, and wondering if it is too risky to arrange the flight in Kolkata.

Are flight crowded recently? Does anyone know?

I just returned back from a week long trip to Havelock island in the Andamans. When we flew over they bumbed us up to business classs because they overbooked the plane. When i flew out of Port Blair yesterday the flight was also packed and it seemed like there were absolutley no seats left anywhere on the flights. I would try to fly out of Chennai if that is possible. There are somewhat regular Jet airways flights to Port Blair from Chennai. You need to get a permit to travel there though, i just got one when i arrived in Port Blair.

Check with Air Deccan, They have a Kolkata - Port Balir flight everyday. I recently flied with Air Deccan from Chennai - Port Blair. I was pretty much satisfied with their service & the fares were quite cheap.
