ATM on Havelock island

Is there an ATM on Havelock?

Would be nice.. If there is no ATM, I have to take all the money with me... I don't like that

No ATM on Havelock. Bring your cash from Port Blair.

The bank at No3 market will change Sterling, USD and Euro travellers cheques and cash from 1430 till 1600. But no, there's no ATMs and it's a bloody hassle going back to Port Blair if you run short of cash.

I really should update my last post here. The bank on Havelock stopped changing both T Cheques and cash at the beginning of October. I was told that this was because a number of fraudulent cheques were cashed - which doesn't explain why the bank stopped changing cash as well!

Sorry to anyone who took my advice and got caught - if it's any consolation I also took it and returned to the Andamans mid Nov and got caught short of rupees! There are some resorts on Havelock (Wild Orchid and the Barefoot Group) who will accept credit cards to pay for accomodation - other than that, take a good stash from Port Blair or be prepared to do a money run or two.

Hi,

How's Havelock on the whole? I had been in Little Andaman some years back and had found it really nice.

I am going again soon, yet dont' know where exactly to go this time.
