Andamans vs Thailand

OK so we have a few weeks during our 3 month India trip which need to be dedicated to beach time. Hubby wants to go to thailand, so we could possibly fly to Bangkok and take it from there.

I have never been to Thailand, but also have no great desire to go

and would rather go to the Andamans.

Any pro/con arguments? I actually think Thailand (flying to Bangko and using domestic airlines there) is cheaper than the flying to Port Blair route - but hey - what do you guys think!!???

TWO-THREE WEEKS ANDAMANS OR GO TO THAILAND?? Looking at somewhere in September...Oh and yes we have our beautiful baby girl with us

Andamans, Andamans, Andamans, quiet and relaxing, beautiful. If that is enough for you then Andamans it is!
However, Thai food is so great!

Thailand has 1st class hospitals close to all beaches (except some out of the way Islands).

There is likely to be a great hospital in Port Blair, but try getting there in a hurry from one of the Islands.

1:0 to hubby I think.

(sorry, but with a baby, it has to be a major consideration)

It depends on what you value. If you want facilities, proper tourist infrastructue, restauraunts, hotels and all that, then go to Thailand.

If you want a more rustic, peaceful experience, less crowds, more remote and beautiful beaches, and don't mind simple meals, poor service, etc. then go to the Andamans

Have to agree completely with Shivers. Andamans is not a place to take a baby.Ifyou have an emergency you may regret your choice.Go to Thailand.

That was in my mind too!! OK sold then...now to find some flights..... Thanks!
