andamans by ship

hi everyone,
i am going to india in may for six month and planing to go to the andamans by ship. does anyone know if it is posible to go there in july? and is it allowed for foreigners to go there by ship in july or august? or do i have to wait till sept. because lonely planet says it is not allowed for foreigners between may and august. has anyone tryed to go there during this time?
i would apreciate it if someone could help me.

there must be someone on this site who knows something about the andamans thats not in LP.
still haven't found any info on the net about my question.
or is it simply silly trying to go there in rainy seasion?
