Andaman Travel

Hi All

I am planning a trip to Andaman in April 2009. I have few queries regarding my trip and I am looking forward for your help.

1. I want to travel by ship (Kolkata - Port Blair) and am not able to find the schedule for April. I would like to get the booking in advance as I need to plan accommodations etc accordingly.
2. How good are the Deluxe/First Class cabins, if I can get some pics of the cabins...
3. The trip to Andaman would be for 7 nights 8 days, so can any suggest which all places I can cover. As am going on my honeymoon and am looking for decent accommodation but do not want the accommodation to be really expensive. Any suggestions on the accommodation...

it should help you with Question 3. I can't really help you with your other questions, as I travelled in Bunk Class.

We had gone to Andaman in Oct 2006. We stayed in Andaman Teal House. A tourist lodge run by Govt. A nice place and they serve good foood also.

sm_thn how many people were there at the Andaman Teal House? I friend visited a couple of months ago and was the only one there.

if you have found any information about ships, please post it. As I am also planning to go in March 2009.
And if possible please share your itinerary.

The ships are no great with basic facilities only. Don't expect a Luxury Cruise line sort of experience. Also note it takes approx. 3 days to reach Port Blair from Chennai.

When we had gone, there were at least 5/6 families in Andaman Teal House. Various site seeing tours are also arranged from there only.
