Andaman Recommended itinerary

Can some of the guru's on this site please recommend an itinerary for a 6-7 day visit to Andaman In January? We( wife and 3 year old) intend to fly to Port Blair from Chennai. We're still debating whether to make Port Blair our base camp or spend all our time at Havelock. Any pointers? We don't intend to scuba dive. Just sight seeing and sunny beach-time. Any recommended mid-range family accommodations would be helpful.

HI & Welcome to Indiamike.

Havelock is def. the best plac to be in Andamans. It has Asia best beach Radhanagr (Beanch No. 7.). You can easily spend time on the beach with very few other people around. There are many options to stay here Mid range to higher end, have a look at this links

However please note that there are hardly any sight seeing options on Havelock Islands i.e. if you intend to spend your most of the time lazing on the beach then you can spend you maximum days here.

Port Blair is a city & has no. of sight seeing options in & around.
Cellular Jail / Anthropological museum / Mini Zoo & Fish Aquarium (Must visit for your 3 year old)/ Corbyn beach - This are in the City
Ross Islands / Chidiya Tapu / North Bay / Wandoor beach / Mahatma Gandhi Marine Park / Lime stone caves & Mud volcano / Mt. Hariet - This sights are around Port Blair Ond day trips.

Accomodation is not a problem at Port Blair. However at havelock at least book accomodation for one night as it will be peak season in Jan.

I would advice spend 2 - 3 days at Port Balir (Select your options what places you want to visit) & spend the rest 3 - 4 days at Havelock. Check this link for more details
