The Taj at Sunrise
I want to see the Taj at sunrise and not spend a lot of time in Agra. I'll be leaving Delhi on Wednesday to see the Taj on Thursday morning.
Afterwards I need to be in Jodhpur by Saturday evening? What's the best way to get in and out of Agra and spend that extra Friday? Thanks. |

Good plan Ocean... DO NOT MISS Fatipur Sikri--you will be very near it in Agra. Allow at least an hour there, you could spend alot longer.

Thanks for the help. I'll be sure to add a couple of those places to my trip.
One more quick questions. Are there afternoon/evening buses or trains that run from Delhi to Agra. The train sites I've been to are confusing for a newbie. |

Have you tried www.erail.in? It's really not that difficult.
The following link will do a search all trains from Delhi to Agra If you're really confused have a look at booking trains page I've done for friends on my blog. Possibly the problem that you'll have is that I think you want to travel this week and so availability will be quite restricted. Alternatively, depending on your budget, you could just hire a taxi to take you there. You can arrange a car+driver on the street or via a company via someone like Namaste India Tours or Car Rental Delhi. (NOTE: I've not used either of these yet so it's not a personal recommendation, just a couple of helpful links) |

Few trains and their departure & Arrival times are:
1. Taj Express - 6:55 PM - 10:00 PM 2. Shatabdi Express 8:43 PM - 11 PM There are many other trains, but they are long distance trains and most of the tourists travel on the above two trains only.

thanks for the help. After digging around a few train sights I got everything figured out. cleartrip.com shows the trains running to a city for all of it's stations. Very helpful for a first timer. Looking forward to india!
