Taj Festival ~ worth it?

Has anybody been to the Taj Mahotsava or anything similar? It would be a big pain at this point but I could rearrange our schedule to be here for a day during the festival period. (Though what I'm really hoping is that people will say it's just a touristy affair and not worth it at all).
