Landing on the 2nd evening from Bombay by the Punjab Mail at around 6pm..ahve booked a room at the crystalinn at fatehbad road..

(q) how do i reach from the station to the hotel? do i need to bargain? are there pre paid counters? how much will it cost?

Will check into the hotel, freshen up and take a walk for a night view of the taj, not go inside but just around it..

(q) how far is the taj from where im going to stay? considered safe to be walking around at night?

Will wake up early to be at the taj around 6ish so hopefully wont be a long wait( reminds me of Shirdi...will finish the taj tour in a couple of hours and walk around the city a bit...have early lunch and would want to move to delhi.

(q) are there buses that i can get into easily? how much will a cab cost? or should i rather book second class sitting tickets in the taj express which is late evening (they are the only ones available)?

Fatehabad Road is very neart to Agra cantt. stationl, an auto charges 50/- for there. don't pay more. & tajmahal is 2-3 kms from your hotel.
But if you want to visit there at night then preferably take an Autorickshaw. since there are some isolated places in between.

There are many govt. AC buses operate between Agra & Delhi, you can get them from Idgah bus stand. dont take a cab, it will cost you around 4k.

Either you can reach Agra Cantt station, take a 2nd class ticket for Delhi & contact the TT's of Ac coach of any train which is going to Delhi for a seat. They charge the difference & alot u a seat/berth. Generally lot of people get down at Agra so there is always accomodation is available which we cant get online.

tempted to do the 2nd..am with family and bags..hope thats possible..u suggest i book second class sitgting tickets just incase....also is it safe to land at delhi around ten..i need to go to tagore garden..have no clue where that is..

Tagore Garden is in West Delhi, approx. 25 kms from Nizammuddin Rly Station. But around 10pm you will reach in 40-45mts

so get off at nizamuddin and not at new delhi??

are there pre paid cabs or autos from nizamuddin? whats a good rate to pay

It will be nearer from New Delhi Station but Taj Express is upto Hzt. Nizamuddin only. There are pre paid cabs as well as autos available there. When you come out of the station from platform no. 1 the pre paid booking booth is on your left.

i booked through the jhelum express landing in delhi around 8ish pm....so go upto new delhi or should i get off at nizammudin?

If you have to go to Tagore Garden,then New Delhi Station is better...
