India is a big country. It would help to know what city these hotels are in but it also should be mentioned that not all hotels, particularly low budget ones, have websites, email accounts that are checked regularly, or fax machines. If you have not found these hotels in the appropriate section of the hotel listings, perhaps you could try Googling the names along with the city.

If you mean the Hotel Kamal in Agra, it is a sound and decent budget hotel. Its rooftop garden is a bit of an oasis in the snotpit that is Agra.
The manager is also a very helpful and apparently honest chap.

My personal advice is not to rely on email to Indian hotels and the venerable Sheela in particular. Get their phone number and call tham..

If you need to get sunrise shots of the Taj early in the morning, hotel Kamal is the place to stay. Walking dist to the yamuna river where you can get a boat to the opp bank for 50Rs.
Of course, the hotel itself has got nice chaps and honest manager working there who will warn you of the scams happening in Agra. |
