Hi All,

Can anyone tell me if its neccessary to prebook a train from Delhi to Agra? We arrive in Agra at 1pm, then will head to the train station to jump on a train to Agra. Should i prebook tickets? And how long and how much would a cab ride be to the main station from Delhi airport?

Also has anyone stayed at the Hotel Bhoomi Residency in Agra? We've been quoted 2900 for one night, twin room with breakfast and i'm keen to book something soon considering many places a filling up fast! Also, how far is it to walk to the Taj Mahal?

Lastly, can anyone tell me how much it would cost to hire a driver for the day in Agra so we see all the sites?

I hope you mean you reach New Delhi at 1 PM. You need to prebook trains otherwise you'll have to travel in general compartment which is not advisable as I am sure the sensory overload will drive you mad ! It'll not be a shock but a huge jolt ! Don't do it ! Stay at Delhi for night and then take the early morning train to Agra.

Why not stay at Hotel Sheela, very close to Taj and good prices too !

Should be around Rs. 1000 for Agra, Fatehpur Sikri & Sikandara. Hassle free Pre Paid Cabs available from Agra Cantonment Railway station.

Yes, we arrive in Delhi at 1PM, so we have decided to stay the night and head to Agra early the next morning.

I'm looking at accomodation in Karol Bagh- is this a good area for shopping and close to restaurants?
