Delhi to Agra, train possible in late afternoon, early evening

Only 3 months before I leave for India. So excited.

I'll be leaving Chandigarh for Delhi, either air or train, arriving around 15:30 whether it's air or rail. Are there late afternoon early evening connections to Agra? Would you suggest a driver to Mathura (overnight there and see the sites and then on to Agra?
