Cloak room in Agra Cantt station ?
Hi
Sorry if this is covered elsewhere, but I sure can't find it anywhere Is there a cloakroom in Agra Cantt railway station? If so, do you know what hours it keeps? If not - does one know somewhere close to Agra Cantt that'll hold a couple of bags for the day? I'm passing through Agra for the day (arriving 0350) and I'd like to take the 0700 local bus to Fat Sik, so don't really want to have to hike into Agra Ganj to find somewhere friendly for bag storage. thanks everso ![]() |

Yes ! There is a Claokroom at Agra. It's open 24 hours, except for Lunch & Dinner Breaks, which are small. I don't remember the exact timings of the breaks.
One word of caution. They'll not accept your luggage, unless all the zips are pad locked. Dear Dom99, sorry ! I have no info about Udaipur station cloakrooms.

All sections of your luggage (that contain anything) have to be locked, and you need a train ticket, incoming or outgoing.
Udaipur also has a cloakroom, in fact, all stations (that a tourist is likely to use) have cloakrooms, if they don't, they will keep your luggage in the ticket office, this happened to me at Chitrakoot, and they still had all the proper paperwork. |

Indeed (what Steve said, and Delhiwala said). Moreover, I had to laugh how Lonely Planet diligently explains with each station that it's (currently) 10 Rs. per piece of luggage per 24 hours. Fact is that that is what it is, at any station.
ps It pays to enquire about those lunch break hours of course if they're not signposted, lest you find the place closed just as you need to leave. It's usually just a half hour or so. Count on some time possibly needed to retrieve your baggage, so better not do this 10 minutes before departure. There'll be more forms to be ticked off, there may be people with a shipment of sacks in front of you... etc.

BTW, if I have only 10 hours for Agra and want to see mainly Taj, do you recommend Agra CANT or Agra FORT? I know that trains heading for Jaipur go through CANT first and then to FORT. But don't know which station is more convenient or easier to reach. Thanks a lot!!! |

There will be a cloak room at Agra Fort station, and I think Agra Fort station is closer to everything than Agra Cant. |

You're in the wrong thread, and/but you'll find cloak rooms at most any station yes (so certainly at Chandigarh I suspect), and if not, the staff may well be willing to accommodate your gear in their office or something.
Keeping time is normally a month a think (well, in the latter case and graciously offered as it is, I wouldn't try to stretch it for as long. Again though, this would be the exception and along very minor stations anyway. Which Chandigarh isn't. Again, I'd be very surprised if there weren't a cloak room facility here.) |
