Book train and Agra hotel in advance?

I'd like to take the train from Delhi to Agra on Friday October 30, and stay in Agra for 3 nights.

Should I book the train in advance? I'm considering the Chennai Rajdhni leaving NZM at 16:00, arriving Agra a little after 6pm.

Should I book a hotel in advance? We would look for a moderately priced hotel. We don't need silk sheets, but we do like clean sheets.

Full moon is on Monday November 2 I believe. Is it likely to be more crowded that weekend prior to the full moon? Or is it just always crowded?

There's only 10 seats in 3-tier air con and 4 seats in 2-tier air con for the Delhi-Agra sector, so book early.

Nizamuddin is also a pain to get to if you're staying in Paharganj, but I've looked for similar timed trains from New Delhi and there's nothing useful.

No idea about hotels or full moon.

During the Full moon time, booking a hotel in advance will be better. Sheela and Sheela Inn are two good hotels in budget range...

Taj is always crowded and November is peak tourist season.....

Thanks! I did book my train tickets and got a confirmed PNR number for both directions between Delhi and Agra. Looks like I got in just in time. By the way, I tried booking from the irctc website and my credit card transaction kept failing. So I ended up booking easily through MakeMyTrip. (Thanks to the good advice in the train forum.)

And I decided to reserve a room at the Sheela. I reserved through their website and I'm supposed to get a confirmation within 48 hours. I hope so, because in 72 hours I'll be flying across the Pacific
