Agra-Orchha-Fatehpur Sikri
We've planned to visit Agra but just for one day, seeing the Taj Mahal, the Red Fort and if there's time even the Baby Taj. Our train will arrive at about 6:00 in the morning so there should be plenty of time. It's seems that the best time to visit the Taj Mahal is in the early morning or in the evening, so if we have to leave the luggage at our hotel and have a good breakfast, surely it might be wise to visit the Taj in the evening. Do you agree? When are the most people there; at which hour do the big tour groups leave? We're there in the end of August during the week (no Friday
so hopefully it'll be less crowded. We've decided to go to beautiful Orchha next day in the morning and sleep the night there and the day after in the late evening turn back to Agra, but the doubt we have is if it's better to directly move on to Fatehpur Sikri and sleep at Goverdhan Tourist Complex instead of staying another night in Agra? Have anyone been there and is the hotel ok? No big luxury is needed, but still it should be comfortable. We would like to see Fatehpur Sikri in half a day and afterwards move on to Bharatpur in order to take the night train (HWH==JU==EXP ) at 20:50 to Jodhpur. If there's time enough we're going for a walk in the Keoladeo Ghana National Park. The reason why we'd like to go back to Agra/Fatehpur Sikri from Orchha is that we prefer to travel comfortably by train and from Jhansi to Jodhpur it's too complicated and to go by buss seems a too big adventure being the Monsoon season. Do you think it's ok to sleep at Fatehpur Sikri? We don't like hassle, touts, traffic and Agra has a very bad reputation and this is also the reason why we'll avoid Jaipur later on... Thanks!!! |
