Agra Fatehpur Sikri Jaipur Info Please

i am staying at hotel sheela march 29th to visit the taj early morning around 6am we want to then quickly visit agra fort before heading to fatehpur sikri around 10.30am then from here onto jaipur as we have a hotel booked for the evening of the 30th at pearl palace intending to do all the sights of jaipur the following day.

Can anyone tell me how long it takes to get agra-fatehpur sikri and is it best to go from the fort or the taj by train/taxi or bus also how long it then takes from fatehpur sikri to jaipur and how is it best to travel to here train/bus or taxi

Wow, I'm tired from just reading that, do you say "ready, steady, Go....." before starting the race around each place?

I should shut up, I lasted only 45 minutes in Agra before heading to the train station and on to Delhi, I just wasn't in the mood for touts, and the Taj was closed.

But I have had 7 days in Jaipur, and still feel I've got most of the city left to explore.

(Thought for today - would 3 different Disney worlds be tiring in 2 days)

jaipur as well as jaisalmer has the same effect on many people but as her profile indicates she's a jet-set person (I have travelled in the past 3 yrs to Turkey, Sicily, Sri Lanka, South Africa and am off to India in March 06, wow) so it would be interesting to see what experiences she has been here although would chime with steven that it's too short for the indian effect to have

anyway, agra to jaipur by bus is about 5 hours, so if you're going to stop in Fatehpur Skri then obviously the journey will be more.

Why was it closed? Does this happen regularly?

They were waiting for the man with the key to open the gate, but he'd slept in.

Seriously, it's closed on Fridays (except an hour or so for prayers.)

Haha. Slept in. I wonder how many tourists who'd travelled a long way to see the Taj wanted to throttle him.

I was watching The Great Outdoors this past Monday on Aussie TV (Channel 7) and the host went to the Taj Mahal on a Friday and said something like "We came on a Friday, so luckily, the entry was free." Is it free entry on Fridays, and if so, for how long, that is, if it is even open on Fridays?

The best mode of travelling between the places you marked i just can wish you luck as its the most scary part of rajasthan travel from bharatpur to jaipur any ways the best mode of travelling is by a rented cab i hired from someone in jaipur and was flattered by their services and the conditions of the car was excellent, hope you also catch someone like that.
