Agra Cantt. or Agra Fort? And related questions.

I'm planning a one day trip to Agra (and then transitting to Jaipur in the evening, by the Gwl-Udz-Sup-Exp at 5 40 pm) and Fatehpur Sikri.

We were planning to take the Bhopal Shatabdi to Agra. I know this takes one directly to the Agra Cantt. but was wondering how far the bus station is from here.

Is it better to visit the Taj Mahal before or after Fatehpur Sikri? How much is the bus likely to cost and would it be wiser to hire a car (both in terms of money and time)?

Plus, would it be wiser to catch the 17:40 train from Agra Cantt. or Agra Fort?

I would suggest take a taxi from Agra Cantt station, see Taj Mahal first and then Fatehpur Sikri and catch the train from Agra Cannt Station. You can get city tour taxi from Platfrom No 1 at Agra Cannt Station.

You should first see Taj and then Fatehpur Sikri.

And board the Jaipur bound train from the Agra Fort Station. You'll get 20 minutes to board here.

And I didn't understand your bus stand query ? Agra has 3 main bus stands Idgah, Fort and Foundry Nagar, which one do you want and why ?

Thank you, both of you, I was getting quite confused.

And Delhiwala, I was wondering about the bus station in terms of taking a bus to Fatehpur Sikri. Which bus station can we catch such a bus from?

Or, alternatively, how much would a cab cost us, do you think?

And good point about the Agra Fort thing. ^^

OK ! Buses to Fatehpur Sikri go from the Idgah station. From Taj you mat take an auto or pedal rickshaw to Idgah stand.

Taxi should be around 1000-1200 for full day, you may see Taj, Sikndra and Fatehpur Sikri.
