Tree shrine, in what I *think* must have been the inner courtyard of the Kamakshi Amman Temple, in Kanchipuram.
Nick-H who was kind enough to take me around here together with Mrs. N. explained to me the little cradles you see hanging from the tree are left there by women asking for (the fertility to ensure) a successful birth.
