Gate & dam, Omkareshwar

(One of the) ancient gate(s) as you climb up to Omkareshwar's Siddhanatha Temple, with the dam and artificial lake on this river Narmada beyond.
This gate will likely have been the one overseen on the outside by the deity's statuette seen at http://www.indiamike.com/photopost/showphoto.php/photo/47363/ppuser/5654 ; more on the temple in question at http://www.indiamike.com/photopost/showphoto.php/photo/47249/ppuser/5654 ; while some more on that (controversial) dam is with the pic at http://www.indiamike.com/photopost/showphoto.php/photo/47246/ppuser/5654 .

Joph says: Machadinha, I guess we did partly the same route, with 1 year between the 2 of us. This dam was the cause of a lot of controversion in the district. The water behind the dam covers villages and farmhouses, which got placed on the bottom of the lake.
