It is arguably the best located hotel at Murishidabad. It is right on the bank of riever Bhagirathi, almost adjacent to Hazarduari Palace & Imambara, which are the main attraction of Murshidabad. The Hotel is clean and in budget class. It has beautiful garden, which has quite few rare plants.

Violet Smith, Grand Dame of Sudder Street presides over the aged Fairlawn hotel, in her family for 75 years. It's not everyone's cup of tea. I stayed in a family room because I wanted the balcony. The room was huge. The beds super hard, I stacked two actresses together plus used extra blankets for padding.
