I was there in early December, 2007, stayed 5 nights and wished I'd stayed 5 weeks! Not that there's lots to do in Bikaner, but just to stay within the compound of the guesthouse and eat the fantastic food (and learn from) of Mama Raj! There is free rickshaw pickup from the train or bus station, make sure you pre-arrange with ... read more »

First let me say, Jitu and his family are probably the nicest bunch of people you are likely to meet in India.
The guesthouse is small, clean, quiet and the beds are comfy. Our double was 350rps, with bucket hot water, and you can get delicious thalis made by Jitu's mum for dinner. Its a family run place, so they insist you ... read more »

I stayed there end of February and liked the very friendly family atmosphere. The food is very tasty. They work on a no-commission basis, which has to be supported.
The son, Jitu, proposes ecofriendly tours, if you are interested. I found these tours more interesting than the ones in Jaisalmer, because there is more wildlife ... read more »

Rating 10 out of 10 is NOT enough to express the experience you will have with this family. Further, the desert safari organised by Jitu from this guesthouse is not to be missed - however long or short. They catered to our every needs with a smile on their face.
By the way, the food prepared by Mama Raj IS NOT TO MISSED - ... read more »

Vinayak is perhaps the best guesthouse experience I have ever had. The rooms are large and spotless, and a bargain at 200-600rs. But the experience of this place is centered around the family that runs it.
If you are looking for a "homestay" type of experience, this is it. You immediately feel like part of the ... read more »

I came to Bikaner via a recommendation of a friend that spoke highly of the Raj Family. I wasn't even intending to come but fate worked its magic thank the Gods that I found my way here.
I arrived and was safely collected by Jitu at 5am from the Jaisalmer bus. On signing in I went to my room and fell ill with an unknown ... read more »

Vinayak Guest House is definitely the best place you can be in Bikaner. A really good experience it was for me. After spending vacant-hotel-ceiling evenings in Jaisalmer, not to mention touts and thugs, coming across the Solanki family was a real treat. The rooms are a steal for the kind of comfort they offer. Very nice clean ... read more »
