I stayed at Tiwari Lodge around new year in 2012. Although December is high season for Varanasi, we got a very spacious double bedroom on the ground floor without any pre-bookings. The owner is extremely chilled out and one can pretty much come and go as one pleases. The other staff are also kind and helpful.

I stayed here for a week in marck 2012.
I didnt know it was a shared bathroom and I had the Delhi belly(UGH)
but I guess thats not their fault.....be sure to make sure you book a room with a bathroom if thats important to you.food is ok,but pricey and they charge to much for booking taxis and trains.The only way to get there ... read more »

I stayed in room 7 at 1000rs in February 2012. I chose it because of it's high ratings and the promise of a great location one banks of the Ganges. It lived up to all of my expectations. This hotel is located on the chausatti ghat and famous dossasomedh ghat can be reach in 5 mins by Ganga ghat. But you have to walk 10 mins by narrow lanes from the main road to reach the hotel.
