Stayed there in October 2010. Stuff were very helpful. Payed 950 Rs for 4 bed room, 700 Rs for 3 bed room. both non AC. The rooms are quite clean (with clean bedsheets and towels) we only had problem with mices who are wandering around...and it's not comfortable to see a mouse running from one corner to another. I stayed here for a week in Nov 2009.I had stayed here on a couple of previous visits.
Rooms are clean,not large,fan, A/C in some rooms ,ancient TV , hot water geyser, internet, honest management.
Excellent outdoor space - open air restaurant under giant hibiscus .

I stayed in September 2009.Service was amazing, really friendly , genuine people.
The owner has another hotel in Jaipur, wish I'd stayed there.
I was recuperating from being robbed and bashed, so i stayed about a week.
Room service was a real plus, and they had nice tasty food.

Stayed there in Feb '07. Very good value. paid r450. No safety/ security issues. Appreciated honest and reliable advice from manager. Courtyard is a wonderful place to relax, read, meet people and plan. Better meals can be had elsewhere, but for sipping tea and snacking, it can't be beat. Pretty good value for money. Comfortable and quiet place away from the touts and mess of Taj Ganj. Near Sadar Bazaar where you can find restaurants. Also near post office. Gd place to mingle with other backpackers too.

I paid Rs 550 for an AC double with bathroom (hot water) in Dec 06, but they have cheaper options also. They obviously work with a handful of reliable rickshaw drivers who pick you up from the station and then get a chance to be your driver for the day, which works very well. We arrived at the Tourists Rest House at about 04:30 Hrs. Without any fuss whatsoever we were shown straight to our room were we were able to catch up on some much needed sleep!
The room was clean and large enough for the two of us, it had an on-suite shower room, a fan, TV and A/C.
