Tiger Lodge Bandhavgarh

Tala village

It is not a very big place and has just the very basic amenities that is a fan and beds to sleep on!!! Electricity goes off during most of the daytime so be prepared for some hot weather if you are there in the summer. The toilet leaves much to be desired as it is not well lit up nor does it have hot showers. There is a cold shower though it does not have an effective spray due to water shortage. A bucket bath is the best option. The owner is very helpful though and they have their own tea and thali service all the time. He even took me on his motorbike to get me some toiletries, slippers and a towel I wanted for myself from the market nearby. The rooms are not too large but the window opened to the Bandhavgarh forest behind the hotel. There is a phone booth at the entrance and the owner arranges his own jeep for the ride into the tiger reserve for the standard rates prevalent all over the area. Pretty cheap considering the price we paid for the place. Fan in room and attached bath with hot bucket of water. Cold water showers only.

There is a STD booth available to make any local or international calls. Very basic place to stay. Gypsy (Jeep) available for hire for the park rides at the regular government prescribed ... read more »
