I have stayed there 4 times in the past few years. On my last journey to Delhi, I was informed that the always helpful manager (a young man of around 25 years) had died and his partner had taken over control Since then, the hotel standards slipped in many ways.
The standard rooms are generally squallid. Small; unclean ... read more »

Had reserved a room for the beginning of FEB. Upon arrival found out they had overbooked. Was referred to another hotel and was escorted there by one of their courteous staff. The next hotel was absolutely miserable. Very disappointed!!! ... read more »

I stayed here for one night in October after Hotel Namaskar lost our reservation. We paid 450 rupees for our non-airconditioned room which I found to be very quiet and very clean in comparison to what was on offer at Hotel Namaskar. The hotel had also been sprayed for mosquitoes which was another plus and the hot water actually ... read more »

I stayed here in November 05 and hated it - changed to the Star Deluxe for the rest of my stays in Delhi.
The bed was made up with dirty sheets which were also torn and had cigarette burn holes in them, and the bathroom was revolting, doubt it had been cleaned in weeks, let alone prior to my checking in.

This was the worst place we stayed in India. The hotel is located in a very dirty and noisy area of town. We arrived here on our first night straight from the airport, and walking through Paharganj in 1am in the morning was probably the most disconcerting experience in my life.
The tourist company in the hotel tried to cheat ... read more »

These guys were very helpful to me, as I ordered my train tickets online and had them delivered to the hotel prior to my arrival (they kept them in the safe for me), plus they arranged my airport pickup, which was great.
One downside was that I found my room to be very noisy, as sound from the entire hotel echoes up the stairwell ... read more »

I stayed here in July and found it really good value, too. I got an 'air-cooled' (ie noisier and less effective than air-con, but cheaper) room with attached bathroom for Rs.300 a night. They booked my air ticket back to the UK for me and got me a great deal, too. Delhi to Heathrow direct with British Airways for £198. ... read more »

I just stayed at the Star Paradise last week, October 2004, and found the staff helpful but the room was full of cockroaches. Before you take a room here look under magazines, in the corners of the bathroom, etc... The price was right 500 rps for a one bedroom with airconditioning. ... read more »

I stayed there last week, and for a few days earlier in the month. The rooms were newly painted, and no sign of any cockroaches. They were extremely helpful with receiving train tickets before we arrived in India, and their airport pickup was very reliable. Costs: about 450rp airport pickup; 400rp for double room non AC; 250rp ... read more »

Beware of snakes in the grass! By e-mail Star Paradise quoted me Rs. 375. When it came to checkout they were charging me RS. 600! Fortunately I pulled out my e-mail and thrust it in their faces. They relented. Always carry all correspondence.
It is also very noisy! These were my first two nights in India, but because of inerconnecting ... read more »

We stayed here in Jan 2005. They were quite "friendly" and the price we were quoted, 400 for a smaller room- was the price we paid. They were painting at the time and the place smelled of a strong chemical of some sort, not sure it was connected to the painting but the small room was quite clean. The bathroom vented ... read more »
