The Sree Annapoorna is about 3km from the railway station - I paid Rs.50/- for the Auto-Rickshaw ride. The main entrance to the hotel is through what appears to be an underground car park (without cars). It is a well-known hotel with a very popular non a/c vegetarian restaurant, and an a/c restaurant (that I didn't visit). It caters mainly for Indians. The location isn't bad - just five minutes from the railway station by auto-rickshaw. The hotel itself is "Indian Style" (in other words, it could do with a coat of paint and some cleaning). A bottle of Kingfisher, along with a bottle of water and four bowls of snacks, brought quickly by room service, cost Rs.95/-. The Non A/C restaurant was packed with locals (always a good sign) and the food was excellent and inexpensive. I think that the hotel is overpriced, compared with other hotels I have stayed in, but if you can put up with the Formica décor, the grubby walls and the peeling paint, and enjoy veg food, then give it a try!.
