A beautiful traditional home with a large central hall (where the owner received guests and sits in his swing) and a number of rooms in the wings, each with large bed, mosquito nets and large private bathroom. The owner is overwhelmingly friendly and talkative. He can recommend good trips to do by public ferry or rented houseboat. The house has nice verandahs to listen to the crickets and is very quiet. Two minutes walk from the lakeside. It' s not ultracentral, but a 20 minute walk or a short auto ride from the centre. Private bathrooms, verandah, hot water, meals possible. I stayed here twice back in the late 1990's and found it delightful. It's a beautifully preserved Kerelaln house, tiled roof, deep wooden verandahs.
