arrived in Varanasi just before Holi and the guest houses vwere full, walking along the ghats saw the inspiring name SITA and it looked so clean (none of the others did)luckily there was the lovely room 402 waiting for me. I actually didn't stay here, but I probably will next time I go to Varanasi. It's a good quality place, and the staff is (mostly nice)... I used their help on a couple of occasions. It's also not far from the main ghat (Dashwamedeh?) which is more accessible by auto+cyclerickshaw than other parts of the old city. ... read more »

I stayed at Sita guest house from February 18th - 21st. I looked at two rooms, one being 450 a night with a small balcony over the river and one being 900 a night with a bigger washroom, big window looking over the window and nicer beds (which I ended up taking because I'm allergic to the mold in old beds). Varanasi is an incredible city with phenomenal sights and sounds. But my hotel helped me experience the real beauty--the spiritual Silence and Beauty of the Ganges. This Goddess is the real temple in this city of a thousand temples. The hotel allows you to feel the silence up close. You can walk out and bathe in this holy river. ... read more »

I stayed in Sita for over a month in total and had checked out quite a few hotels and GH in Varanasi. Sita's location is a definitve plus as it is near to the Main ghat so it's easy to see everything going on there, especially in the evenings, but it's also away from the noise and bustle so it's very quiet and peaceful. I stayed 5 days at Sita Guesthouse in February, and I will highly recomend it to evryone! Exelent service, and the rooms really gives you the best wiew in Varanasi. No problems with anything, and the staff help me out for the next journey by getting train tickets, taxis and, well, everything. Thank you for a nice stay!
