Positives: Location, Price
Negatives: Poor Hygiene, No Service/Facilities, Bed Bugs, Leaking Toilet, Mold in walls

I picked this hotel for location (opp Central Stn. & short walk from Park Stn) & facility to book from TTDC office in my town. It is a very poorly maintained property, though it looks like a heritage building.
It is a Youth Hostel, with a few rooms for families. It is used as a motel with a bar at entrance. No breakfast or other service is available. Apparently, someone from outside supplies thali lunch/dinner at fixed time.
Location was a huge bonus. I was able to walk with luggage from Chennai Park (local stn) to the hotel in 5 mins. There is a bus stand outside the hotel. Park Town (mrts stn) is a walking distance (5-10 mins without luggage). Chennai Central (main line) is walking distance (5 mins with luggage). Autos are available in plenty outside on the main road. Also, many of the private buses (to Bangalore, etc.) leave just outside the hotel.
Did not realise on first night, but bed bugs were a major pain on 2nd night. The sheets/towel were not changed (apparently you have to request for it). We killed so many bugs that the bedsheet had so many blood stains that they had to change it on 3rd day. Soap & towel was provided on request. Toilet Cistern was leaking continuously & the bathroom floors were very damp & mold was visible. A/C was a vintage one & was trying its best, but was barely cool enough for Chennai summer.
Interestingly, there was a 10% luxury tax on room rent of 750, that was to be paid on exit with valid receipt issued. They also charge 50 rs for extra person in a/c room (100 rs in case of deluxe a/c), but I did not get a receipt for that.
If not for the bed bugs, I could have recommended it for a budget tourist, but its not worth paying with your family blood for staying cheap...
