Amazing home stay

When we arrived at friends paying guest house, admittedly, it was a little scruffy around the edges just as many of the places we had stayed in India, but they showed us to our room which was newly decorated, clean, simple, functional. they told us they were in the middle of renovation so the other rooms I'm sure will be as new and clean as ours. What made friends paying stand out to us was the amazing family that run it. The minute we arrived they made us feel like part of the family, we had been taken into their family home! the food was brilliant traditional Indian cooked by the lady of the house, and the rest of the family were so lovely. We shared photos on the roof while singing to bob marley with the owner! If a real Indian family experience is what you want then look no further!! It was in walking distance of the Taj Mahal and the family told us all the local information we needed, and sold us absolutely nothing, which was a breath of fresh air compared to other places we had been. They even went to the market for me to get a local item i had been looking for!
and to the people writing terrible reviews. Get a grip. Firstly, this is India, If you want a 5 * hotel then pay for one, if you want to stay with an Indian family then stop moaning; this is a family home run by a wonderful family. The rooms were fine and the food was exquisite.
they gave us postcards of the Taj mahal which we wrote on the balcony and sent to our families and everyone we met afterwards we raved about how lovely our stay had been. If you are a traveler looking for an experience rather than a soulless hotel then i think you will enjoy it as much as we did!
