Quirky and quaint little hotel
Overall:
Location:

Cleanliness:
Positives: Its the Fairlawn
Negatives: Its the Fairlawn
Violet Smith, Grand Dame of Sudder Street presides over the aged Fairlawn hotel, in her family for 75 years. It's not everyone's cup of tea. I like the feel of the place, its more like going for a stay at Grannies house. Like a Granny Smith, it's green! Not for those that like sterile hotel chains. At least stop by the garden for a cold one.
The Fairlawn is a must for anyone going to Kolkata, at least for a night or two. It is pricey, I paid 2750rs for a single in February 2012. Not matter, I loved the place.
