Once you get past the entrance, its really nice.

Overall:
Location:
Staff:
Cleanliness:

Positives: Value for money, friendly and helpful staff, clean.
Negatives: Location, no restaurant strangely, but only a kitchen, mediocre food.

I stayed here on 26th August 2011. Interestingly, i zeroed in on this place from this very thread after finding to my horror that Yathri Niwas/Ginger outside NDLS was full.

The hotel is 2 stops away by metro from NDLS. Get off at Chandni Chowk station and from there its a 15 minute walk, or a 40 rs cycle rickshaw ride. The entrance is very deceiving its just a small plaque in a dirty footpath. As soon as you walk in through the door, you are greeted by a steep, narrow set of stairs which can be a major put off if you have large amount of luggage. Once you step inside though, its like stepping in a portal back in time. The hotel claims to be established in 76 and believe me, it looks like they decided to keep the furnishing from that era. The room service staff wear gandhi caps, and all doors have the squeay door-close mechanisms attached. The television in my AC double room was as old as me, but worked flawlessly. Even the large buttons on the top left side ;)

They have a kitchen, but not a restaurant. Room service is available and i sampled the indian food. It seemed to me as slightly overpriced but your best option as there are not many good restaurants in the immediate vicinity.

Overall its clean, charming in a strange way and good value for money.

I paid 990/- for two people sharing a 3 bed AC room.
