Stay in Jan 2010
Overall:
Location:
Staff:
Cleanliness:
Positives: Nice sized room, with good furnishings and appointments
Negatives: Hot water took a long time to come on
We stayed here in early Jan, and Ratan Vilas was one of the nicer hotels we found during our trip. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and there is a very family-run atmosphere to the place.
The hotel had a nice open area where we could have meals in, as well as an enclosed area for those not willing to brave the weather. The food was good enough, although I would suggest some of the restaurants in the area for better dining.
The bathrooms were very clean with very stylish fixtures. The only downside, which is common in hotels in India, is that the hot water took a long time to come on. Once it did, is lasted long enough though. The owner had explained to me that they will be installing a much more water friendly upgrade soon.
The location was nice, and the main attractions in Jodhpur were fairly close to the hotel.
All in all, a good stay.
