“High on Oxygen but .......”

An oldish property set in prime location with Annexe rooms offering lovely view of the valley and sunset, lots of old world charm, away from the buzz of the market but within walk able distance.
The hotel has history overwritten it entirely. This is the place, my parents had taken me as a teenager and I had similarly taken my 6 years old daughter in Mar 08 to share the same experience and warmth.
However, with time things have changed, no doubt we enjoyed the old world charm, view of the valley, but now the Hotel is in a bit of run down state, there is a lot wear and tear in the rooms, patches of paint job, hygiene and cleanliness lacking in the bathrooms, no proper sweeping and cleaning of the room, no proper room service to speak of, bugs in the room, mattresses, pillows and towels smelly, fans work at one speed(fast), common restaurant had loads of flies and to top it all, there were busloads of very noisy day picnickers on the weekend. Food though not bad was not of quality and taste which we had experienced earlier.
However, if you are a big family, parents, grandparents, cousins, uncles, aunties, kids and want to big rooms at economical cost then this is the place to be. You get the best of both worlds. Views with old world charm and economy. This is place is not suited for young couples who are seeking for solitude.
All in all, for Fountain the Oxygen is in the form of wonderful location of the hotel, away from the buzz of the market, some of the Annex rooms offering lovely views of the valley but nothing to speak about room conditions, service, food and truckload of day visitors take away those charms.
