We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel de l'Orient in July 2008; the staff was very professional and made an effort to give us good recommendations on shopping, site-seeing, etc. The room was very comfortable, even in the stuffy south India heat--very comfortable bed, which is important to me on vacation! We felt that the breakfast was too expensive for what is served (nearly rs. 200 for veg omelet; no non-veg breakfast option) though tasty. The hotel is within easy walking distance to the sea-side, many tourist spots/restaurants, and shopping.
