Don't bother

I have stayed there 4 times in the past few years. On my last journey to Delhi, I was informed that the always helpful manager (a young man of around 25 years) had died and his partner had taken over control Since then, the hotel standards slipped in many ways.

The standard rooms are generally squallid. Small; unclean and often smelly.

The photos of the hotel seen on this site show only the "deluxe" rooms.

The staff push you to get meals delivered - they make good money on deliveries. There's also a lot of pressure to go on tours organised by the hotel. And the one that got me most on the last journey was no Tibetans are permitted to stay at the hotel. This is not due to any legislation in force, it's a local policy. I had booked a room for a Tibetan friend and he was told that if I was not in another room of the hotel, "his kind" would not have been permitted to stay at the hotel.

That was enough for me to never go back there again.
