A converted guest palace of the Maharaja of Gwalior (his own palace next door), now owned and renovated by Taj Group. Heritage features, exquisite courtyard settings, "art nouveau" feel, magnificent views from roof,magnificently restored rooms

Outstanding - yes a bit of a splurge but one of my favourite hotels in India. The staff really make you feel special, the food is wonderful and the massages/treatments amazingly good value! Add to that Gwalior is one of the least touristed cities of India with a charming unpretentious feel.
