Varanasi is an incredible city...
Overall:
Positives: Wonderful atmosphere, right on Ganges!
Negatives: Not enough rooms for other friends
Varanasi is an incredible city with phenomenal sights and sounds. But my hotel helped me experience the real beauty--the spiritual Silence and Beauty of the Ganges. This Goddess is the real temple in this city of a thousand temples. The hotel allows you to feel the silence up close. You can walk out and bathe in this holy river. Or take a boat ride out into the flow, and just be there with Her. I am afraid that so many people are really missing what Varanasi is really about--actually what I think India's great ancient tradition is really about. As the great sage Maharishi Mahesh Yogi once said to a group of young people coming to India for the first time--"India is about 'IN'". Make sure you experience That aspect of India.
Staying at Sita gives you the chance to experience that wonderful IN value, not just the OUT values of all the cultural and social aspects of life in this busy place. When we wake in our room overlooking the Ganges, high up steps above Her, we felt sooo good. And eating on the roof restaurant allows you to keep enjoying her beauty and Silence. My wife and I feel blessed that we found this place so we wanted to share the blessing of it with others.
As Maharishi was fond of saying: "JAI GURU DEV"
