I've just stayed 5 peaceful nights here at the Gangaram. It's right next to the side wall of the Aina Mahal, 200m to the bazar, and within walking distance (or low rickshaw price) to other parts of the city. It's relatively quiet, only noisy during daytime and early evening, I didn't even need my ear plugs to sleep with.

I had a single room without A/C or hot water, but both are unnecessary in Dec., the ceiling fan works well even overnight, and I had my own bathroom. The place is kept very clean.

The owner is amazingly helpful! His motto: Nothing is impossible! Well, he'd just sent out his battalion of chore boys or seek help from his army of friends in town. As this was my very first stop on my virgin visit to India, all the assistance was much appreciated.

There is a restaurant here, which is great for breakfast; but you'd also want to check out the other places nearby. There is free internet use (2 computers with high speed connection), cable TV in each room and soon to have free WiFi access in every room! Welcome to the 21st Century, travellers :D
