We were recommended to this place...
Overall:
Positives: Location, Hospitality, Food.
Negatives: none, really, for the price.
We were recommended to this place by a friend, and were very glad to be. It is not listed in the lonely planet, or any other english writen guides, so it would have been hard to come across had we not had the connection. It is a family run place, with all the benefits that that usually entails - great service, very friendly, and fantastic home cooked vegetarian or fresh fish meals. Rosie, Thomas and Joseph really went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. We were able to borrow their bicycles to go into town, and they organised a canoe hire for a paddle around the backwaters, which was just beautiful. The position of the place is exquisite - it is right on the water, and the houseboats that meander by throughout the day add a sense of tranquility and peacefulness that makes it so easy to sit outside and lazily watch the day roll by. For only 700 rupees for our room per night, we really felt we had value for money, and would highly recommend this place to anyone.
