Positives: Massive rooms, apparently the rooms in the main building are better, we stayed in the new annexe wing and were very comfortable. The beds are similar to four poster so putting a net up is a doddle and the bathroom is large with two toilets (western and no
Negatives: No service, you are just shown to your room and left alone. No restaurant and it is a decent walk down to into town. There is another hotel quite near though that does food and beer called Yatri Nivas
Considering that Quillon is just a jumping on or off point for the backwaters we were impressed by this hotel, if not the town itself. It's pretty safe and comfortable for a short stay and the building itself is rather impressive. Only drawback is it's a short way out of town but all the auto drivers know it, auto fare should be around 20 rupees from the bus stand but be prepared for them to ask anything up to 100!
