Jenny and her family provided more than a place to stay. She and husband Jose arranged for a driver (and friend - Sajeev) to meet us in Bangalore and serve as companion throughout southwest India. The guide they arranged, Sabu, was articulate, educated and engaging. In short, they provided us with good company and unique insight.
Le Royale is an ornate mansion (even by US standards) combining extravagant comfort with reasonable prices and family ambiance. The prices are absurdly cheap and the food is gourmet delicious. In fact, it's the only time I remember having lobster for dinner and prawn for breakfast (and a delicious dried shrimp dish in a jar to sneak past customs).
In short, a booking here is less like making a reservation and more like being adopted. We can't wait to return....
