Well let me add my two cents

Well let me add my two cents. Out of the four places we stayed in India, JasVilas was definitely the best. Certainly the facilities were top notch but, more importantly, the personal care that Mahendra gave us in terms of helping us with our plans and our time in Jaipur was what really helped make our time there enjoyable. And all such help was at no thought to personal gain. Whereas other hotels may "helpfully" offer to provide a driver/car for a relatively expensive rate, Mahendra gave us the number to the radio taxi service and suggested it was the best/easiest way to get around. This kind of selfless assistance (especially from providers of services to tourists) is a rarity in India from what we could tell.

The only advice I can think of offhand is to check on whether or not eggs are available. When we there, there were no eggs available for breakfast due to the avian flu problem going around. I think had I known that the main component of breakfast would be missing, it might have made more sense to order breakfast items ala-carte.

Also, if you found J.V. via IndiaMike be sure to let them know when you make the reservation.
