An 18th century, two storey building completely renovated to serve the modern traveller. Five carefully decorated bedrooms with modern en-suite facilities and balconies overlooking rain trees and coconut trees which adourn the infamous Fort Cochin. A garden terrace is located on the rooftop for your use, to help you unwind. Air conditioned rooms with modern luxury en-suite facilities [bath/shower, hot/cold water]. Two types of Rooms are available at 1000 or 1200 IRS [depending on size] per day [non-A/C].
All rooms are equipped with Air-Conditioning Units, which can be availed at an additional daily cost of 600 IRS/per Room.

while I stayed at Rain Tree 5 nights, my review is not as effusive as the others. I paid 2000Rs/night (all rooms are doubles, and all cost the same) and in my opinion, not worth the price whatsoever.

This is a gem of a guesthouse. Spotlessly clean, very comfortable and quiet, with brilliant staff. Have to agree with the others in that it was one of the best places I have ever stayed in India.
Prices are now 1800 RS a night (Jan 2007). Best room is number 5.
