Padma Guest House Hampi
Hampi Bazaar area, just opposite the bus stand.
This beautiful little place is one of the best guesthouses in the Virupaksha Temple and market area of Hampi with the owner of the house Ms. Padma who is a very sweet, helpful lady. Very nice place with attached bathroom and air cooler. They even do your laundry for you at a slightly high rate but worth it when you get the clothes washed in the house in a washing machine and not by thrashing them on the rocks in the river nearby!!! Also serves food if you wish but you pay extra for that. The rooms are pretty small but then what do you expect from a small guesthouse which is actually just their house where they lend a few rooms to the guests for a few hundred rupees per night?!!! No TV or phone in the room but you can see the TV in their living room if you wish and the phone is there for use if you pay for it. Hot showers, attached bath, air coolers, mosquito curtains. Padma Guest House Hampi Rates and Room Information
Depending on the season from Rs200 to Rs800 for a double room with attached bath.

We've spent some time in Nov'07 and were pleased by rooms and service. Ms Padma is really nice person to deal with. The location of the guesthouse is very good - near the bazaar, but in a quiet lane with flowers around. And the view from the terrace to the main temple is great.
We were offered 4 rooms for a choice - 2 at the ... read more »

I really enjoyed my stay here back in 2000. This time around, it was full and I had to go elsewhere. I was disappointed because Padma was great and it really felt nice to stay in a home, rather than a big guesthouse. I was travelling on my own and felt very safe here, so for solo female travellers I would recommend Padmas. ... read more »
