I was there in September 2011, following the fabulous recommendations here. Reservation worked well by phone, they speak good English. I reserved an upstairs, the costlier version of what they offer. The room, though basic, was nice; all out of wood, a large bed with moskito-net supplied. The balcony is shared with the second ... read more »

This place is a lovely place to stay for a couple of days, most only stay one, which we did, but we wished we could have stayed longer. The setting is stunning, the rooms are right in front of the water.
We payed between 1000rs and 1200rs for a double room, the food they cooked was lovely. It's a little way out of town, so ... read more »

I wasn't sure if I should add this review, but I think my comments are fair and I'd still recommend this place to anyone.
The location and the feel of this place are priceless, a truly great place to stay, I'm the kind of person who can't sit still for a minute, but I still managed to just chill and relax for 3.5 days, and ... read more »

We stayed with Thomas, Rose and Jos for a week over Christmas 2008 and practically did not move from the homestay. The location is unbeatable, right on the water, close to town yet far away enough to not hear it. We would just sit there for hours, talking, eating, sipping chai, watching the houseboats go by with people all wishing ... read more »

We stayed here for two nights in Jan 2008 and I have to say it was the highlight of our month in India. An excample of the setting:- Whilst watching the boats go by from our hut the people on the boats were taking photos of our hut and the setting.
A typical evening was spent sitting on the veranda of our hut, having a sundowner ... read more »

We absolutely loved our stay here. Were originally only booked for one night, but realised that this wasn't enough the second we put our bags down, and immediately requested an extra night. The hosts were charming, and cooked fantastic food. The setting was divine, even with the noise of the passing house boats.
Highly recommended. ... read more »

We were recommended to this place by a friend, and were very glad to be. It is not listed in the lonely planet, or any other english writen guides, so it would have been hard to come across had we not had the connection. It is a family run place, with all the benefits that that usually entails - great service, very friendly, ... read more »
