I stayed for one night in a standard Ac room (1,500 INR). The hotel is in the centre of town very close to the bus stand, but as it is set back from the road in its own compound is very peaceful and quiet. There are pleasant leafy gardens and shady spots to sit down and relax around the pool, as well as on the terrace outside the upper floor rooms.
The room was good; pretty spacious with comfy bed and decent bathroom. The furniture and fittings were a little on the worn-out side, but clean and pefectly acceptable. Excellent Property with great service but pathetic maintenance

It was very easy to locate the hotel as it was bang opposite to the Bus Stand. From the gate, you can see Arjuna's Penance stone carving. Shore Temple & Krishna's Butterball+surroundings are a very short walk. Lighthouse & Five Rathas are a bit farther, but still walkable.

This is my 5th visit to Mamallapuram. I stayed once at the Ideal Beach Resort and 3 times at the Mamalla Bhavan Annexe/Heritage.(name change)
On this trip (Jan 2010)I stayed the first 2 nights at Mamalla Heritage then moved to the Mahabs for 5 nights which is more or less across the road.
