Pre paid autoriksha stand in town center do know about
Old "Raj" Keralan/English mansion in beautiful gardens, not far from city center and small lake.if it is still there: go for it, fin de sïècle feeling for a budget price. A few huge rooms with dito bathrooms but no service to mention Government Guest House Kollam Rates and Room Information

I love this place - stayed there about five years ago. At that time the staff, when you found them were quite happy to organise dinner in the delapidated dining room and even beer! Considering that Quillon is just a jumping on or off point for the backwaters we were impressed by this hotel, if not the town itself. It's pretty safe and comfortable for a short stay and the building itself is rather impressive.
