Not just professional hospitality, but really interested. Hot shower, ac/fan, laundry service, doctor on call, safety deposit, motorbike and cycle hire, babysitting, etc. Durag Niwas Jodhpur Rates and Room Information

absolute gem of a find. We stayed 2 nights in the maharaja room. It's huge and decorated with antique pictures and furniture. Bed was very comfortable and the attached bath was pretty big too.
There is nice park right next door where you can go for an early morning walk, or hang out at the terrace or in the lobby with other ... read more »

This place was a jem. Govind was incredibly helpful to us during our planning time before going to India and while we were there. He arranged a vehicle for us from Udaipur with a stop in Khumbalgarh and Ranakpur. It worked out beautifully.
We loved the family atmosphere and the rooms are so reasonably priced! Highly recommend ... read more »

Govind gives the best service I had in India, sitting you down and giving you a complete rundown on Jodhpur when you arrive. He'll brief you on everything from where to get the best samosas and icecream to how much to pay for rickshaws and clothes. And then he'll make sure that the commission he is meant to receive at various ... read more »

We stayed in Durag Niwas over Christmas 2006 and really enjoyed our stay. The family is very serviceminded and helpfull without being over(t)ly commercial.
Rooms start at 200 Rs. We got their maharaja suite which is a combination of one very large room and an adjoining smaller one. We paid 650 rs for that combination.

Yuk, this was the most dirty place we stayed in India (of about 20)! We are not talking about not crisp-clean, we are talking about a really dirty and badly maintained room!
I must admit we do not particularly care for friendly chats with the hosts or a good looking courtyard so that will certainly distort our opinion of this ... read more »

A lovely family

A lovely family-run guesthouse. We were only there for a few nights but were made to feel a part of the family. It's a little way, but walkable, from the city centre so nice and quiet, and rickshaws are easy enough to find at the end of the road. If nothing else, it's worth staying there for Mukta's cooking! ... read more »
